Whether you’re already an East West DyeCom customer or just curious about our line, I want to welcome you to our new blog.
My name is Joan and I am the….hmm, office manager? estimator? scheduler? receptionist? bookkeeper? file clerk? customer service rep? Actually, at any given time I’m any or all of those. We’re a lean team here at East West DyeCom which means we all get to wear a lot of hats.
If it isn’t obvious, I’ve just been given a new one to wear. That of Blogger for our Product line. I’ll admit, it is a daunting task and one for which I’ve had no prior experience. Please be patient with me. I’m sure there will be some blogging protocol I blindly stumble past and internet etiquette I will be accused of disregarding in my quest to enlighten you on the mysteries of anodizing aluminum (no mystery at all really – mostly nerdy chemistry stuff), give you helpful information, share the answers to frequently asked questions and just generally talk up a storm about East West DyeCom and our line of colored anodized aluminum products – a subject I feel I know much more about now than I did five years ago, when I first started working for EWDC.
I came to EWDC in 2004 when the printing company I’d been with for 15 years finally shut its doors. Thanks to my years of office experience I was able to jump right into managing the office but and handling the day to day tasks. When a key production employee left her position several years ago, I was given the opportunity to learn much more about the aluminum anodizing process. So began the love affair that continues to this day.
Anyway, enough about me. I’d rather talk about anodized aluminum. About its benefits, its history, its chemistry, its colors, its versatility and its WOW factor. Not all in one sitting mind you, but I hope to talk about it all in the weeks and months to come.
I’ll offer tips and answer your questions. Feel free to post them in the comments section or you can always email me at joan@eastwestdye.com.
Tip: Did you know that East West DyeCom only uses dyes that are Hex-free?
For those of you who aren’t familar with the term, Hex-free means that we don’t use dye products that contain hexavalent chromates – chemicals which are very damaging to the environment. Non-hexavalent products are more expensive but hey, we think Mother Earth is worth it.
I’ll let you know about current sales running on our website.
Tip: Did you know we’re having a sale next week? 15% off our beads, washers, wire shapes and jumprings. I’ll take an additional $10.00 off your order just for mentioning that you learned about it first, here on our blog.
I see you again next week.
